1. Introduction
Welcome to GeJay Media ("GeJay Media", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the GeJay Media website, including its articles, guides, documentation, downloads, digital products, Joomla templates, memberships, support resources, and other services or materials made available through the website (collectively, the "Site").
GeJay Media is operated from British Columbia, Canada and provides information and digital products to an international audience.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you purchase, download, license, or otherwise use a GeJay Media product or service, additional terms or policies may also apply, including any applicable Licensing Terms, Refund Policy, Support Policy, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, product-specific terms, or terms presented during checkout.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Site or purchase or download products or services from GeJay Media.
If you enter into a purchase or other agreement with GeJay Media, you must have the legal capacity to enter into that agreement. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian may need to make or authorize the purchase on your behalf.
3. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Site, our products or services, our business practices, or applicable legal requirements.
The date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were most recently updated. Updated Terms become effective when posted unless a different effective date is stated.
Changes will not retroactively remove rights that cannot lawfully be changed or waived. Where additional notice or consent is required by applicable law, we will provide it as required.
4. Website Content and Informational Materials
GeJay Media publishes articles, guides, tutorials, documentation, commentary, product information, and other materials relating primarily to Joomla, website publishing, website development, technology, and related subjects.
Although we aim to provide useful and accurate information, technology changes frequently. Software versions, features, interfaces, compatibility requirements, security practices, third-party services, and recommended procedures may change after content is published.
You are responsible for evaluating information before relying on it and for maintaining appropriate backups and safeguards before making changes to a website, server, database, software installation, or other system.
Site content is provided for general informational and educational purposes and is not legal, accounting, financial, tax, cybersecurity, or other regulated professional advice.
5. Digital Products and Joomla Templates
GeJay Media may offer free and paid digital products, including Joomla templates and related files, documentation, updates, and services.
Purchasing or downloading a digital product does not transfer ownership of GeJay Media's intellectual property to you. Instead, you receive the rights to use the product according to the license and other terms applicable to that product.
Product descriptions, demonstrations, system requirements, compatibility information, pricing, license terms, included services, and the period during which updates or support are provided will be stated on the applicable product, pricing, licensing, or checkout pages.
Where separate Licensing Terms apply to a product, those Licensing Terms form part of your agreement with GeJay Media.
6. Software Compatibility and Third-Party Extensions
GeJay Media products are developed for the Joomla versions, environments, and technical requirements identified in the applicable product documentation or product description.
We do not guarantee compatibility with every server configuration, browser, third-party Joomla extension, plugin, module, custom modification, external service, or future software version unless that compatibility is expressly stated.
Updates to Joomla, PHP, browsers, hosting environments, third-party extensions, or other technologies may affect the operation or appearance of a product. We may provide compatibility updates according to the terms applicable to the product, but no software product can be guaranteed to remain compatible indefinitely with technologies outside our control.
You are responsible for maintaining backups and, where appropriate, testing significant software or template changes before deploying them to a production website.
7. Free Products
GeJay Media may make certain templates, downloads, resources, or other products available without charge.
Free products may have different update, documentation, support, or licensing arrangements from paid products. The availability of a free product does not guarantee that it will be maintained, updated, or supported indefinitely.
Unless otherwise stated, downloading a free product does not create an entitlement to paid support, future updates, or other services.
8. User Accounts
Certain GeJay Media products, memberships, downloads, support services, and other Site features may require a registered user account.
You agree to provide accurate and current information when creating or maintaining an account and to keep account information reasonably up to date.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account except where the account has been accessed without your authorization and you have taken reasonable steps to protect your credentials and notify GeJay Media of the unauthorized access.
8.1 One Account Per Customer
Unless GeJay Media expressly authorizes otherwise, each individual customer may maintain only one GeJay Media user account.
You may not create, maintain, or use multiple accounts to circumvent product entitlements, membership limits, website allowances, download restrictions, support eligibility, refund restrictions, account suspensions, access controls, or any other GeJay Media term or policy.
If you accidentally create more than one account, please contact GeJay Media so that the accounts can be reviewed and, where reasonably possible, consolidated or otherwise corrected.
GeJay Media may suspend, restrict, consolidate, or terminate duplicate accounts where reasonably necessary to protect the Site, enforce applicable terms, or prevent abuse.
If multiple accounts are created or used deliberately to circumvent GeJay Media policies, commercial restrictions, a previous account suspension or termination, or other access controls, GeJay Media may terminate all associated accounts and block the individual from creating or using additional accounts.
8.2 Account Credentials and Sharing
GeJay Media user accounts are intended for use only by the individual account holder unless GeJay Media has expressly authorized another arrangement.
To help protect customer accounts, personal information, paid resources, and the security and integrity of the Site, GeJay Media may establish and enforce minimum password and account-security requirements.
You are responsible for creating and maintaining a password that satisfies the security requirements presented when your account is created, activated, or updated. GeJay Media may reject passwords that do not meet those requirements and may require a password to be changed or reset where reasonably necessary for security purposes.
You must not knowingly take steps to circumvent account-security requirements or use account credentials in a manner that creates an unreasonable security risk to your account or the Site.
Keeping account credentials private helps maintain a secure environment for all GeJay Media users. Individual account access helps protect customer information, prevent unauthorized access, maintain the integrity of product and membership entitlements, and reduce the risk of misuse of the Site and its services.
You may not share, sell, transfer, lend, disclose, or otherwise provide your account login credentials to another person or allow another person to use your account without the explicit permission of GeJay Media.
This prohibition includes sharing account access for the purpose of allowing another person to obtain product downloads, updates, membership benefits, ticket-based support, or other services or resources available through your GeJay Media account.
Deliberate sharing of login credentials or knowingly allowing unauthorized use of an account is considered a material violation of these Terms and may result in immediate suspension or termination of the account and its associated commercial entitlements without prior notice.
Where an account is terminated for deliberate credential sharing or unauthorized account use, the account holder may lose access to customer downloads, future updates, memberships, ticket-based support, and other GeJay Media commercial services.
You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to keep your login credentials confidential and secure. If you believe your account credentials have been lost, stolen, compromised, or used without your permission, please notify GeJay Media promptly so that appropriate steps can be taken to protect the account.
GeJay Media will not treat an account compromise reported in good faith as deliberate credential sharing merely because an unauthorized person obtained or used the account holder's credentials.
8.3 Account Suspension and Commercial Entitlements
Suspension or termination of an account may result in loss of access to customer downloads, updates, memberships, ticket-based support, and other GeJay Media commercial services associated with that account.
Account suspension or termination does not override rights independently granted under an applicable open-source license to copies of software lawfully received before the suspension or termination.
9. Purchases, Pricing, and Payment
Prices, currencies, billing periods, included services, taxes, and other applicable purchase information will be displayed before you complete a transaction.
Unless otherwise indicated, GeJay Media product prices may be displayed and charged in United States dollars (USD). Your payment provider or financial institution may apply currency conversion rates, foreign transaction fees, or other charges that are outside GeJay Media's control.
Applicable taxes may be added or otherwise handled as required by law and will be disclosed as part of the purchasing process where required.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. GeJay Media does not control fees, exchange rates, authorization decisions, or other policies imposed independently by your payment provider or financial institution.
You agree to provide accurate and current billing and account information when making a purchase.
10. Memberships, Updates, Support, and Renewals
Paid GeJay Media templates and All Access memberships include access to updates and ticket-based product support for the applicable entitlement period.
The exact benefits and duration of a purchase will be described on the applicable product, membership, pricing, licensing, or checkout page.
GeJay Media product entitlements and All Access memberships do not renew automatically unless expressly stated otherwise. Before an entitlement expires, GeJay Media may send a renewal reminder and may offer a renewal discount or other renewal incentive.
You are not required to renew. If you choose not to renew, no renewal payment will be charged by GeJay Media and the applicable commercial entitlement will expire at the end of its current term.
Expiration may end access to future product updates, customer downloads, ticket-based product support, and other commercial benefits associated with the entitlement.
Expiration does not remotely disable an installed GeJay Media template merely because the commercial entitlement has ended, nor does it retroactively remove rights independently granted under an applicable open-source license to copies of software lawfully received during the active entitlement period.
Direct product support is provided according to the GeJay Media Support Policy. Free templates do not include individual product support, although GeJay Media may provide documentation, FAQs, tutorials, and other self-help resources.
11. Digital Delivery
Digital products may be delivered through an account area, download link, email, or another electronic method identified during or after purchase.
You are responsible for providing a valid email address and maintaining access to any account used to obtain your purchases.
You should download and safely retain copies of products to which you are entitled where permitted by the applicable license. We do not guarantee that previously purchased files will remain stored or downloadable from the Site indefinitely after the applicable access or update period has expired.
12. Product Licensing and Website Entitlements
GeJay Media Joomla templates may contain materials governed by different licenses, including code subject to the GNU General Public License (GPL), separately licensed GeJay Media materials, and third-party materials subject to their respective licenses.
Purchasing a GeJay Media template or membership does not transfer ownership of GeJay Media intellectual property to you and does not restrict rights independently granted under an applicable open-source license.
Unless otherwise stated, an individual paid template purchase provides GeJay Media commercial product benefits for one production website. An All Access membership provides commercial product benefits for up to three production websites per eligible template.
Development, staging, testing, preview, and local installations reasonably associated with development or maintenance do not consume a production-website entitlement.
Website allowances apply to GeJay Media commercial benefits such as customer downloads, updates, and ticket-based support. They are not intended to restrict rights independently granted to GPL-licensed code.

13. Refunds and Cancellations
GeJay Media provides a voluntary 14-day refund period for eligible initial purchases of paid templates and All Access memberships, subject to the GeJay Media Refund Policy.
The voluntary 14-day refund period does not restart when an existing entitlement or membership is voluntarily renewed.
Separately purchased services or service-based fees are excluded from the voluntary digital-product refund policy unless otherwise stated.
If a refund is issued, the commercial entitlement associated with the refunded purchase will be terminated. GeJay Media may disable access to the applicable customer account, downloads, membership benefits, future updates, ticket-based product support, and other commercial benefits associated with the refunded transaction.
Disabling account or product access does not necessarily result in deletion of transaction, taxation, accounting, licensing, security, or other records that GeJay Media is permitted or required to retain.
Nothing in these Terms or the Refund Policy limits a refund, cancellation, warranty, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or waived under applicable law.
14. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Site and its original content, branding, graphics, documentation, designs, downloads, and other materials are owned by or licensed to GeJay Media and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
GeJay Media products may incorporate or interact with open-source software, third-party libraries, Joomla, or other materials that are governed by their own licenses. Nothing in these Terms changes the rights granted under an applicable open-source or third-party license.
You may view Site content for your personal or internal business use and may print or save reasonable portions for reference. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, scrape, systematically extract, commercially exploit, or create unauthorized derivative copies of Site content except where permitted by law, by an applicable software license, or with prior written permission from GeJay Media.
Specific rights relating to Joomla templates and other downloadable products are governed by the license applicable to those products.
15. Trademarks and Third-Party Names
GeJay Media may refer to Joomla and other third-party products, companies, trademarks, or services for identification, compatibility, commentary, comparison, or informational purposes.
Third-party names, logos, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, references to a third-party product, company, project, or trademark do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation with GeJay Media.
16. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Site in a manner that is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful to GeJay Media, the Site, its infrastructure, or other users.
In particular, you must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, accounts, servers, systems, or data;
- introduce malicious code or deliberately interfere with the security, availability, or operation of the Site;
- use automated systems to place an unreasonable burden on the Site or systematically extract Site content without authorization;
- circumvent technical, account, download, membership, or licensing restrictions;
- misrepresent your identity or your relationship with GeJay Media;
- use Site content or services for unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent purposes; or
- infringe the intellectual property or other legal rights of GeJay Media or a third party.
17. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Site may contain links to or integrate with websites, services, extensions, software, hosting providers, payment processors, social platforms, or other resources operated by third parties.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms, privacy practices, availability, and policies. GeJay Media does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their independent content, security, availability, actions, or practices.
A link or reference to a third-party resource does not necessarily constitute an endorsement.
18. Product Demonstrations and Examples
Product demonstrations, screenshots, sample websites, example content, performance information, and other demonstrations are intended to help illustrate the features or appearance of a product.
Your results may differ depending on your content, hosting environment, configuration, installed extensions, software versions, customizations, images, fonts, network conditions, and other factors.
Unless expressly stated, demonstration content, photography, logos, or other sample assets shown in a product demo may not be included with the downloadable product.
19. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Site, its informational content, and any products or services for which no different warranty is expressly provided are made available on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
GeJay Media does not warrant that the Site will always be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or free from technical problems, or that every item of informational content will remain accurate or current indefinitely.
Except where expressly stated or required by law, we disclaim warranties and conditions that may otherwise be implied, including implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty, condition, guarantee, or consumer protection that cannot legally be excluded.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GeJay Media will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from or related to your use of the Site, its content, or GeJay Media products or services.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate website, database, server, and file backups and for taking reasonable precautions before installing, updating, configuring, or modifying software.
Where GeJay Media is found liable in connection with a paid product or service, and where applicable law permits such a limitation, our aggregate liability relating to that product or service will not exceed the amount you paid to GeJay Media for the product or service giving rise to the claim.
The limitations in this section apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
21. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold GeJay Media harmless from third-party claims, liabilities, losses, and reasonable expenses arising directly from your unlawful use of the Site, your material violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's intellectual property or legal rights.
This section does not require you to indemnify GeJay Media for losses caused by GeJay Media's own unlawful conduct or where such an obligation would otherwise be prohibited by law.
22. Suspension and Termination
GeJay Media may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to an account, download service, membership, or other Site feature where we reasonably believe that these Terms, applicable licensing conditions, or applicable law have been materially violated, or where action is reasonably necessary to protect the security or operation of the Site or other users.
Where appropriate and reasonably practical, we may provide an opportunity to correct a violation before terminating access.
Termination does not remove payment obligations or legal rights and obligations that arose before termination or that are intended by their nature to survive termination.
23. Suspension and Termination
GeJay Media may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to an account, download service, membership, or other Site feature where we reasonably believe that these Terms, applicable licensing conditions, or applicable law have been materially violated, or where action is reasonably necessary to protect the security or operation of the Site or other users.
Where appropriate and reasonably practical, we may provide an opportunity to correct a violation before terminating access. Certain material violations, including deliberate credential sharing, fraudulent activity, deliberate circumvention of account restrictions, or other serious abuse may result in immediate suspension or termination without prior notice.
Termination does not remove payment obligations or legal rights and obligations that arose before termination or that are intended by their nature to survive termination.
Suspension or termination of GeJay Media commercial services does not override rights independently granted under an applicable open-source license to copies of software lawfully received before the suspension or termination.
24. Privacy and Cookies
Your use of the Site is also subject to the GeJay Media Privacy Policy and, where applicable, Cookie Policy.
Those policies explain how GeJay Media handles personal information and how cookies and similar technologies may be used on the Site.
25. International Use
GeJay Media operates from Canada but the Site may be accessed internationally.
You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to your use of the Site in your location. GeJay Media does not represent that every product, service, or Site feature is appropriate or available in every country or jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive a consumer of mandatory rights or protections provided by applicable consumer law that cannot validly be excluded by contract.
26. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and your use of the Site are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to any mandatory rights available to you under applicable law, disputes relating to these Terms or the Site will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, Canada.
Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from exercising a right to bring or defend a proceeding in another jurisdiction where applicable law gives the consumer that right and does not permit that right to be waived.
27. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, where legally permitted, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
28. No Waiver
If GeJay Media does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not constitute a waiver of the provision or prevent us from enforcing it later.
29. Entire Agreement and Related Policies
These Terms, together with any terms or policies that apply to a particular transaction, product, license, membership, or service, constitute the agreement between you and GeJay Media regarding the applicable use or transaction.
Related terms and policies may include the:
- Privacy Policy;
- Cookie Policy;
- Refund Policy;
- Licensing Terms;
- Support Policy; and
- any product-specific or checkout terms presented before purchase.
If a product-specific or transaction-specific term conflicts with these general Terms, the more specific term will apply to that product or transaction to the extent of the conflict, subject to applicable law.
