Let's ask questions that are general in nature and see how I can help you faster with answers below.

GeJay Media is for WordPress and Joomla site owners, freelancers, and small businesses who want to improve website performance, SEO, stability, and usability using practical, technically sound approaches.

Yes. Services and content focus on WordPress and Joomla, with an emphasis on performance, technical SEO, and site reliability rather than design or marketing. I also have over 15 years of theme and template design.

No. Work is handled on a per-project basis. There are no public retainers or ongoing service commitments.

Whether you are changing over from WordPress to Joomla or vice versa, it depends on your level of knowledge of both platforms. If you don't have experience with one, then it can be challenging time time-consuming. However, I can help you with coaching you on how to use one or the other.

Joomla uses the classic editor that many are familiar with, much like the classic editor in WordPress, just more advanced. I don't see any plans for Joomla to adopt the Gutenberg concept of a block editor.

Joomla isn't going anywhere, so you're in good shape should you decide to make the switch. WordPress isn't going anywhere either, although it is going through a transformation of becoming a full-on page builder. The classic version of WordPress will eventually disappear in favour of their new direction.

A Content Management System (CMS) like WordPress or Joomla helps you build, manage, and update a website without needing extensive coding knowledge. It’s ideal for beginners and experienced users alike who want flexibility and control over their site.

Both platforms can work for beginners, but WordPress is generally easier to start with due to its user-friendly interface and vast plugin library. Joomla offers more advanced customization options, which may appeal to those with technical experience or specific needs.

Not at all! Both platforms are designed to be user-friendly, with themes, templates, and extensions/plugins to help you build a website without coding. However, some coding knowledge can be helpful for advanced customizations.

Both platforms are free to use, but costs arise from domain registration, hosting, and optional premium themes or extensions. WordPress may incur additional costs for plugins, while Joomla often includes more built-in features without the added expenses.

Absolutely! Both platforms support e-commerce through plugins and extensions. WordPress users can utilize WooCommerce, while Joomla offers tools like VirtueMart or HikaShop to set up and manage online stores.

The choice depends on your goals and technical experience. WordPress is great for simple websites, blogs, and small businesses, while Joomla excels with more complex sites, multilingual needs, membership, and user role management. Personal FAQs

Just a little separation from the technical and support-related questions to lighten the day.

Over 15 years ago, I discovered these platforms while building my first websites as a freelance web designer. Their versatility and community support inspired me to help others navigate and succeed with them while finding out how flexible they are.

Iced caramel coffees are my go-to drink for relaxing, especially when I take breaks from the computer. During summer, you’ll often find me on the back deck, sipping one while soaking in the sights, sounds, and tranquillity of the forest around me—it’s my little slice of peace. And yes, I even enjoy them in the cold of winter! Fun fact: I have my own recipe, including a homemade caramel syrup that makes them extra special.

I've worked with both WordPress and Joomla over the last 15 years. Even though I designed, developed, and sold WordPress themes, I still have my preference for Joomla. It's not as though WordPress is no good; Joomla, for me, has been strong in many areas that I work in. I consider Joomla to be a true content management system, whereas WordPress is the king of the blogging platforms. However, WordPress is transforming itself towards a path that is different from what it was originally made for.
